The Lizard Global office in the Netherlands will bid farewell to their home of 8 years, the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC). We are excited to announce that starting June 1st, Lizard Global will take up residence in the vibrant location of Lloyd Kwartier. The decision for the move stemmed from the vast growth of the Lizard Global team in recent years, with Lizard Global being one of the largest offices within the CIC.

This move marks a great, new chapter for us as we continuously grow and expand our presence here in the Netherlands. We have a lot planned for this next chapter for you so please look forward to it; as of right now we’d like to reflect and share our experiences at the CIC.

What is the culture in Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) in Rotterdam?

Our time at the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), where our current office space is, has been nothing short of remarkable. We started our journey with renting a single desk back in 2016 and have now blossomed into being one of the largest offices within the center. Not only did the CIC witness the growth of Lizard Global, but we witnessed CIC’s growth and evolution from modest beginnings to its current status as a thriving hub of innovation and collaboration.

We’ve forged deep roots within the community and cultivated invaluable connections being one of the longest-running clients with CIC. Our collaboration goes beyond a shared space, in true Lizard-esque fashion, it’s a partnership that we fostered and built on mutual support and a shared goal to push boundaries and challenge the status quo.

In our time at CIC, we had the privilege of working with numerous companies, collaborating on projects in various fields from transportation to sports to gaming that have had a lasting impact. Our portfolio is a testament to the diverse range of partnership and projects that have helped shape our journey.

One of our greatest highlights of our time in this shared space is the creation of BNI Lizard, a network organization that connects, supports, and inspires entrepreneurs and professionals to grow their business, which we co-founded and continue to host at CIC.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire CIC community for their support, collaboration, and friendship over the years. While we may be moving to a new location, our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible remains as strong as ever.

Working at the Lizard Global office in CIC has been an exciting experience. The Lizard Global team got the privilege of working in an environment with an amazing and conducive ambience, wonderful people, and definitely incredible food courtesy of Venture Café where networking events are usually held for tenants of the co-working space.

Sofia, our Product Owner in the Netherlands defended her thesis from the CIC meeting room:

“It’s crazy to think that 2 years have flown by so fast! CIC is a comfortable space which feels like a second home. It has everything not only for a comfortable working experience but also for relaxation and extracurricular activities. I met a lot of people who are important to me here, so I am very grateful to this place. Playing games together in the office/ decorating the office, having lunches together with the team in the CIC kitchen. I also defended my thesis from the CIC meeting room, so the place holds a lot of memories.

Joan, a Full-stack Developer at Lizard Global went from intern to full time staff in the CIC co-working space:

“I’ve been working in this shared space for a little over a year, starting off my internship all the way to my permanency! The location of the office is extremely convenient, not only is it close to my place of residence but is open 24/7, which really came in handy on days that required me to work late. When I look back at my time here, there is one specific memory that stands out - the Christmas party 🥳 hosted in Venture café. Not only was the whole Lizard Global team present, I got the opportunity to connect with other tenants in the building as well.”

“I’ve been with the company for almost 1 and a half years now, and I’ve been working at CIC for just as long! There are a lot of start-ups, scale-ups and corporations here and CIC takes the initiative to create networking opportunities amongst tenants. It is honestly a great environment to be in. As most working professionals we spend most of our time in the office, as such I have a good bond with some of the companies who are working here. The cherry on the icing is definitely my time working on and contributing to the BNI Lizard project together with David and Rob. 😀
